The artist book of pekka jylhä presents the works of the artist throughout his career. The book contains photographs of his most important works. It includes many of his works, such as the Source from 2000, the memorial to Urho Kekkonen, the installation On the way to Happiness from 2004 meant for the entrance hall of The Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg and several other permanent works installed in private homes and comanies, which never have been presented at exhibitions.
The article in the book, Revelations and encounters - thoughts on the public works of Pekke Jylhä, is written by Liisa Lindgren, Doctor of Philosophy and Curator of Visual Arts. In her article, she reviews how the nature and task of a memorial have changed over the last decades, and presents the public works of Pekka Jylhä as an example of this. The Art Critic Pessi Rautio ponders in his article Major question about existence on the starting points of Pekke Jylhä's artistic expression.
All texts are written both in Finnish and English. This book is the first, more extensive presentation of Pekka Jylhä' s art, which has predominantly been introduced earlier in some exhibition publications.
