Chapell的貢獻在於提齣瞭Fallen Condition Focus。這本書的精華在第2、10、11章。關注FCF對於道德訓誡式的教導模式是很好的調整，這也是改革宗神學的長處——在內容與方法上高度統一。但是以神學統攝解經的做法是值得商榷的。從這一點上說，改革宗與靈恩派在方法論上是相似的。單純地以基督為中心容易忽略三一論的基礎作用。所以以基督為中心的講道聽多瞭之後會發現主旨與應用其實大同小異。這也是為何Piper（以神為中心）的主題比Keller（以基督為中心）聽起來更豐富。中文版（http://book.douban.com/subject/11603385/）已經被廣泛閱讀瞭。
