和The Historian完全不同调性，相信作者很深入地建构了她想要探讨的主题，但如果是读了The Historian再来读这本书，恐怕要失望了

更不如《The Historian》了。看了就想起我以前特不喜歡的一個老師。

Not as good as her previous book" The Historian", but I think worth reading. The love between a talented female painter and her uncle-in-law, at that time in French.
