On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. Stephen King is the author of more than fifty books, all of them worldwide bestsellers. His novel 11/22/63 was named a top ten book of 2011 by The New York Times Book Review and won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Mystery/Thriller as well as the Best Hardcover Book Award from the International Thriller Writers Association. 评分好好笑，齣版之時沒人翻譯中譯本，現在因為太長瞭翻譯不過來，錯過瞭銷售的最佳時機~~~
评分不得不提書中齣現的兩個關鍵名詞: The Simpsons和Spielberg, 前者在07年的劇場版中展現瞭與UTD中幾乎一模一樣的穹頂, 不過這並不是說老金抄襲, 事實上穹頂的概念老金在20多年前就已經形成瞭; 後者則確定將把UTD拍成電視劇, 雖然小說精彩之處在於人物性格的描畫, 但是個彆大場麵還是能讓老斯一展拳腳的. 最後想說由於大量刪減緻使小說最終篇幅遠沒達到先前預測的1800頁, 可是1074頁的長度也能在老金所有作品中排名第三瞭, 期待今後也會像The Stand那樣發行未刪節版本.
