沒有太多的感覺。不如她的那本自傳。當然從她的外婆的這本小傳，可以看齣基因的偉大。

說不上傳奇但還是很牛掰的一聲。選擇造就瞭生活。文筆生動，沒有很難的詞匯。開始閱讀就放不下的一本書。

主人公第一個丈夫是個油嘴滑舌的人，自己有瞭老婆，還是和主人公結婚瞭。當時覺得主人公的經曆好特彆，經曆過前男友的事情後覺得隻是自私冷漠無情無義的另一種錶現形式罷瞭。主人公的第二個丈夫就很好，主人公懷疑過他和彆人齣軌來著，還跟蹤過他，他丈夫也就好好跟她解釋錶衷心瞭（頓時想起我看到前男友和某文科女生的聊天記錄他立刻就把密碼改瞭。。。）這本書挺好看的，當年覺得戲劇，現在覺得寫實，喜歡堅強的女主角和喜歡堅強女主角的她的丈夫

作為《the glass castle》的前傳，這本書要好看更多！比起 Jeannette 的姥姥來，她媽媽不論從人物性格、為人處世還是人生經曆上來說都遜色好多。感覺這本書更適閤拍成電影。這本書裏作者提到瞭《Gone with the Wind》我覺得作者挺知道自己的書該往哪個方嚮靠的，姥姥的 gut/gumption 確實頗有斯嘉麗的風采。這種寫法確實聰明，讓讀者産生熟悉感。關於 Jeannette 的媽媽怎麼會長成那樣的一個母親，這完全是另外一個有關 nature v.s. nurture 的故事瞭。讀完這兩本書，我覺得世界上絕大多數父母應該都不知道 what they did right/wrong to end up with the kids of their own 吧。
