Lucretius and Roman politics and history 一篇比較好，將盧剋萊修放置在與西塞羅並列的語境裏，討論盧剋萊修的政治哲學，反諷羅馬的政治意識形態和內戰。看《物性論》的時候，居然忘瞭去思考結尾瘟疫的寓意——往往是政治性的。詩學傳統一篇也好，印證瞭我之前談到的， Lucretius represents himself at once as the literary heir of Homer, Ennius and Empedocles，在繼承裏又有叛逆性的創造與重寫：盧剋萊修的“種子”—赫西俄德的“植物”—荷馬的“士兵”——一個修辭傳統的生成。
