This thin book represents research into the multiple identities and forms porosity can accommodate. 'Entrez Lentement' explores the fusing of these porous identities, and here again the questions begin. The former arguments for the porosity of architecture, urbanism and landscape can be reinforced with a testament for the porosity of spirit and matter as well as light's effect through form, shade and shadow. Rather than a pre-occupation with solid, independent object-like forms, it is experiential phenomena of spatial sequences within, around and between which triggers emotions and joy in the experience of architecture. The phenomenal properties of light reflected or refracted over a delicately faceting form transcend the formal aspects of the making of faceted forms. The forms pick up the glowing yellow-orange light of the setting sun which changes every day in their faceted surfaces. Likewise, a digitally perforated porous skin penetrated by low horizontal sun multiplies its presence in pins of light with a corresponding web of shadows. When sunlight is projected through trees in a dapple of white light and black shadow on a wall, this dancing variegation exhilarates. Natural light and shadow have the psychological power to inspire and encourage. When the seasonal change of the sun angle is multiplied by variations from sunrise to sunset, porosity when fused with light attains choreographic virtuosity.
