陈蓉霞，1961年11月出生于上海市。1983年毕业于华东师范大学生物学系。1986年毕业于华东师范大学自然辩证法研究所，获哲学硕士学位。现任上海师范大学哲学学院教授。

主要著作有《进化的阶梯》、《破译生命密码》、《两性冲突》等。

主要译著有《起源之战》、《适应与自然选择》、《行走于理性的钢丝上》、《安妮的盒子》等。

这本书是我迄今为止读过的最有启发性的一本书。除了道金斯锐利幽默的语风让人看得痛快淋漓，它还教会我如何科学严谨的思考问题，真诚的对待人生。

原作五星，译作二星。译后记中译者想憋了半天终于决定挥手掴道金斯一掌，结果拍自己脸上了，而且特别响。惜乎…科学文化人吧？接着打算看《the greatest show on earth - the evidence for evolution》了，好在没有中译……
