We set out to find the norms in thesematters with a national survey using a representative sampleof households throughout the United States. We covered all50 states and people from all walks of life. What we got back were completed and informative ques-tionnaires that were filled out in the privacy of home. The3,144 replies came from the normal, the not-so-normal, andsome quite bizarre people.
