Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoy the rereleases of these Long, Tall Texan

books. After That Burke Man was published, my

wonderful editors at Silhouette Books sent me the

original painting that was on the cover. I have it, framed,

on the wall beside my desk, and I still think it s one of the

most beautiful ones I ve ever had. Todd Burke was a fun

subject, because he, like many of my heroes, was not

what he appeared to be on the surface. I do enjoy a

surprise. I hope you do, too, if you haven t read this book

before.

Regan s Pride was demanding and hard work, because it

had a dark subplot and some explosive emotional scenes.

Some characters are hard to let go of after the book is

finished. Ted and Coreen reallv were.

Emmett...ah, Emmett! If you don t know it by now, I love

kids. I only have one of my own, but I d have loved a

houseful. These three tigers of Emmett s were a hoot, even

for me. James would come into the office from time to

time to find out why I was splitting my sides laughing. I

don t know where these scenes come from, because

they re a surprise to me even while I m writing them, but

I enjoyed this book more than just about anything that

came before it. By the way, if you remember Christopher

Deverell, Logan s brother from The Case of the Missing

Secretary, and Emmett s cousin, I m working on his story

as I write this. It will be in my August book--Love With a

Long, Tall Texan, available from Silhouette Books.
