Vincent is a bartender at the Hotel Caiette, a five-star glass and cedar palace on an island in British Columbia. Jonathan Alkaitis works in finance and owns the hotel. 今年读过最好的一本书了！其中一个原因可能是小说里的城市我比较熟悉。读完可以配合听一听nerdette这个podcast里讲这本书的那集，解析的太到位了！她们讲的我最喜欢的一段是解析作者那句人们只喜欢从高级酒店的玻璃窗看到自然的美景，并不喜欢身处wild nature之中。这本书的关键词大概就是偷窃（Alkaitis 庞氏骗局，Paul偷Vincent的录像，Vincent妈妈“偷走”Paul爸爸...）和纵容（Alkaitis 17楼的员工，明知骗局还是参与的investors，当然还有Vincent）吧。

感觉作者风格不适合我，好多地方没看懂。人物行为逻辑摸不着头脑，场景也难以想象，悬疑点也不是我想看的，还时不时夹几个超奇怪的生词，比如我印象深刻有个doppelgängers（应该是重影的意思）希望影视改编能好好做吧

画面感太好了，很多桢都有沉浸式体验，仿佛我就在人物之中… 剪短发，玻璃上的涂鸦，碎纸，抛家，每个场面都可以轻松脑补，很特别的文风～（btw 作者美...）

在audible上听的有声书。故事不是非常engaging，如果是看文字版本我很可能一半就弃了。优点是人物尤其Vincent心理描写非常细腻真实，有很多妙笔妙句。
