Through the lives of ordinary Egyptians, Hessler creates a richly textured portrait of a revolution and the people swept up in it, drawing connections between contemporary politics and the ancient past. 著者簡介

Peter Hessler is a staff writer at the New Yorker (where he served as Cairo correspondent from 2011 to 2016) and also a contributing writer for National Geographic. He is the author of River Town, Oracle Bones, Country Driving and Strange Stones.

2019.10.17 六天時間，沒日沒夜的終於看完瞭。唯一可惜的是英語太差，隻能理解文字錶麵的內容，不過所描寫埃及狀況和當時在那旅遊時感受到的完全一緻，以至於好像又去瞭一趟埃及。而作者又從更深層中去發現原因。總之，太好看瞭。中立不偏頗。
