Coraline went exploring one day . . . Her family has just moved to a completely new town, and so Coraline already feels a bit strange. In her new house there is one door that opens onto a brick wall. At first things appear marvelous in this other house. The food is better. The toy box is filled with windup angels that flutter about, books whose pictures crawl and shimmer, and little dinosaur skulls that chatter their teeth. But there's another mother and another father—and they want Coraline to be their little girl and stay with them forever. They want to change her and never let her go. Other children are also trapped, as lost souls behind a mirror, and Coraline is their only hope. She will have to find a way to meet the other mother's challenge in order to save the lost children, her ordinary life, and herself.

2011-02-26 读过 “也许是有了电影的先入为主，尽管有人认为Coraline的改编动画淡化和稀释了原书的哥特韵味，但我却觉得，动画片Coraline实在是一部了不起的作品！它完好地保留了原作的全部精神和情节，为了更加适应银幕需要而进行的局部改编亦未使其褪色。更重要的是，有了电影形象先入为主的铺垫，很大程度上减轻了我在阅读原著时的惊恐程度...O(∩_∩)O”

下载了漫画来看的，画面不能更赞。一开始觉得Coraline怪没心没肺，见到“另一个妈妈”和异世界的种种好像还乐在其中，到后来才发现原来是个头脑清楚、意志坚定、善于勇敢的小姑娘，真是了不起啊。作为故事，非常完满，动人的细节颇多，不但恐怖而且可爱。到最后好像还有未能...

i kept reading this novel till 3 in the morning. though feeling chill on my spine while reading , i just can't take my eyes off the it.
