Following Antonia Campi throughout her long and fertile path of creative activity as an artist/designer enables us to grasp the huge variety of her interests in the materials and forms of the objects she designed, whether they are destined for domestic use and the bathroom environment or created more freely as art objects: jewellery, porcelains, but above all her beloved ceramics. With her “fancy items”, limited series and exceptional one-off pieces, characterised by successful selections of free forms and colours, Antonia Campi has not only shown great innovative skill with the types and decorations of the earthenware items, designed and produced in her many years of work at the Società Ceramica Italiana of Laveno – today Pozzi-Ginori – but she has also left her own personal mark on the recent history of ceramics.
The work of the artist/designer is collected in sections in this book conceived by Anty Pansera: an annotated catalogue illustrated with more than one thousand images that – thanks also to the precise research of Mariateresa Chirico – offers the reader and collector a kaleidoscopic compilation of the work designed and created by Antonia Campi in the ethically based respect for function and use.
