His clients have included Philip Morris, the U.S. Navy, Colonial Penn Group, Ford Motor Company, British Air, Management Centre Europe, Caterpillar, East Ohio Gas, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the American Management Association.

McConnell has authored numerous articles and business books, including An Introduction to Human Resources, Meeting Management, and Using the Computer as a Management Tool.
