半職場 memoir 半 autobiography，作者對自己人際關係和性格由來的坦誠剖析讓冷酷法醫的形象霎時變得很貼地。見證瞭太多 man's inhumanity to man 引發瞭作者對法醫發展乃至司法係統的反思（以及後期的PTSD），比如遇到好幾例 restraint asphyxia 後決定必須採取行動，於是開始教警察們如何在抓捕犯人時不使用過度暴力，這幾章正好與現在的 George Floyd 案遙相呼應⋯⋯作者將自己的深入思考融入案件中，實在讓人看得手不釋捲，四百頁的書一週不到就能看完，好爽（
评分真的好好啊寫的，關於doubling；關於不一樣的the last cut：臨床上的postmortem和forensic postmortem：主動與被動；suspected homicide：conflict btw relative&public interest；讀到parental misconduct那邊，太難過瞭，法醫的醫患關係也不一定簡單，震驚的是作者接受GMC的investigation之後再迴到工作的描述是unbearable to enter, unthinkanle to run away；然後cross-examination真的太真實瞭哈哈哈哈哈expert witness無論在哪裏都是哆哆嗦嗦

His persistent pursuit of untainted truth is admirable yet a taste of machismo is lurking between the lines
