The new work, entitled Sea Prayer, is a short, illustrated book which Hosseini wrote in response to the current refugee crisis and the haunting image of young Alan Kurdi, the three-year-old Syrian boy whose body washed up on the beach in Turkey in September 2015.
Sea Prayer is an attempt to pay tribute to the millions of families, like Alan Kurdi's, who have been splintered and forced from home by war and persecution。

Khaled Hosseini is an Afghan-born American novelist and physician.His first novel, The Kite Runner, was an international bestseller, published in 34 countries.Following the success of The Kite Runner he retired from medicine to write full-time。His second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, was published in 2007.And third novel And the Mountains Echoed was May 21, 2013.
卡勒德•鬍賽尼（Khaled Hosseini），美國作傢、醫生。1965年生於阿富汗喀布爾市，1970年隨父親遷往美國，現居加州。著有小說《追風箏的人》、《燦爛韆陽》、《群山迴唱》。
