Detective Rick Green studied the picture of the laughing blonde sitting on the rock. She seemed to be smiling up at him with eyes full of fun and excitement. What had happened to her? He looked around the room and made notes of the blood splatters on the floor, the overturned furniture and the dishes of food broken against the walls and floor. The room had the look of domestic violence that had gotten way out of hand. Was the husband responsible for the mess and bloodstains, or was he as concerned as he tried to appear? Frank called the police and reported Beth missing. During the 911 call, he had expressed concern that something terrible had happened. It was only after talking with the police that he realized he was the prime suspect, and there would be questions about his past that would have to be answered.
