This book presents the proceedings of an International Symposium on 'Advanced Experimental Unsaturated Soil Mechanics' held in Trento, Italy, on 27-29 June 2005. This event was organized by the Universit degli Studi di Trento (Italy), the Universitat Polit cnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chausses (Paris, France) under the auspices of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering and the TC6 Committee on Unsaturated Soils. The topics tackled by the papers include suction measurement, suction control, mechanical and hydraulic laboratory testing, geoenvironmental testing, and field-testing. All papers were peer-reviewed by internationally recognised researchers. This book will be of help to researchers and engineers working in the field of hydraulic and mechanics of unsaturated soil.
