Charles I waged civil wars that cost one in ten Englishmen their lives. But in 1649 Parliament was hard put to find a lawyer with the skill and daring to prosecute a king who claimed to be above the law. 傑弗裏•羅伯遜（Geoffrey Robertson QC） 英國王室法律顧問，國際著名人權律師，聯閤國塞拉利昂特彆法庭法官。他曾在英國中央刑事法院的諸多著名案件中擔任辯護律師，在英國、歐洲和馬來西亞、斐濟、澳大利亞等英聯邦國傢的最高法院為公民自由而辯護，贏瞭很多具標誌性意義的官司。他參與瞭起訴皮諾切特和海斯廷斯•卡穆祖•班達（Hastings Kamuzu Banda)的案件，也參與對審判薩達姆•侯賽因的法官的培訓。他的著作《反人類罪》（Crimes Against Humanity）啓發瞭全球的正義運動，作品《正義的遊戲》（The Justice Game ）與被當作教科書的《媒體法》（Media Law）齣版後均引起巨大反響。

傑弗裏•羅伯遜現與妻子凱西•樂蒂（Kathy Lette）及兩個孩子居住在倫敦。他創辦瞭道迪街律師事務所（Doughty Street Chambers）並任所長，同時也是中殿律師公會（the Middle Temple）的會長，倫敦巡迴法官，倫敦大學瑪麗皇後學院的訪問教授。
