This text centers on human relations skills and knowledge noted by ISLLC (Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium) that educational leaders need in order to engage public school stakeholders in a more effective manner. A critical analysis methodology is used to integrate and reflect on the insights of counseling psychology and educational administration. The text is divided into four parts: the foundations of human relations (psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches), human relations attitudes (empathy, respect, and genuineness), communications (cultural, nonverbal, verbal, and written), conflict resolution, and special issues (humanization, diversity, groups, mentoring, and stress issues).
