在武夫统治下的帝国，反抗者都会付出生命代价。那些不肯一心一意效忠帝国的人，都可能面临亲人被害，失去一切的威胁。
拉娅和她哥哥、外祖父母一起生活在这个类似于古代罗马的残酷世界里。一家人在帝国贫民区艰苦过活。他们本来不想挑战权威，因为目睹过反抗者的悲惨结局。

评分开头看着还挺一般般的，反叛军啦，被灭门啦，要救下最后亲人的少女啦。随着两个主角的视角轮流切换，两人的故事渐渐交叉，共同推进故事的发展，才沉入了故事之中。当初只买了一本试水看看，现在得赶紧去下单第二本了。
