著者簡介

Edward St Aubyn was born in London in 1960. He was educated at Westminster school and Keble college, Oxford University. He is the author of six novels, the most recent of which, ‘Mother’s Milk’, was shortlisted for the 2006 Man Booker Prize, won the 2007 Prix Femina Etranger and won the 2007 South Bank Show award on literature.

看完劇來讀的......小說的細節描寫更多，調子也更加陰鬱。小說裏22歲的Melrose基本處在一種麻木混亂的狀態，完全看不齣自救意圖地沉浸在毒品的空虛中。本尼演的男主至少自救意圖明顯，想戒毒的打算始終貫穿，對自己的人生還有痛感和知覺，這就已經不知道多光明瞭。一方麵空虛沉淪玩世不恭，另一方麵渴望救贖嚮往新生。人啊，就是這樣在泥潭的現實和美好的理想裏麵不停的掙紮......突然想到王爾德的一句詩：We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.希望自己能夠做一個至少內心looking at the stars的平凡人。

看劇第一集看到一半就壓抑地看不下去，書更壓抑，細節的描寫真是讓人喘不過氣。
