More direct than the anime and more mature than the original manga series, this version of Chiho Saito's fractured fairy tale blasts Utena straight into the iconic stratosphere. A group of highly creative people founded by director Kunihiko Ikuhara (Sailor Moon, Schell Bullet) that includes such storied members as master manga artist Chiho Saito (Kakan No Madonna, Lady Masquerade) and animator Shinya Hasegawa (Neon Genesis Evangelion). Their collaboration produced the Utena TV series and the movie, Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Adolescence of Utena, and recently they have produced a new work called The World of S and M.
