看看科學傢推薦的幻想小說，用第二人稱寫的小說，開頭真有點兒彆扭。故事還是比較單薄，人物不多，就靠想象力支撐。

主角們擁有能夠引發或者消解地震的能力，讀完前幾章會感覺是個類似 X-MEN 的「少數群體」故事。好在這感覺沒持續太久，主綫以 POV 的形式迅速展開又收攏，最後穩穩拋齣一個 hook，舉重若輕地告訴讀者，「你看，這是關於他們，也是關於我們的，奴役與自由的故事。」

設定比較有意思的奇幻三部麯之首部，從三個視角講瞭個動不動就發生地質災害毀天滅地的星球上的恩恩怨怨。基本上，普通人懼怕能操縱能量的orogenes（有點類似普通人類和mutants的關係），暴露身份的後者大部分早夭或者被送去“培訓學校”，在受監管的條件下學會使用自己的能力，成為安撫這顆愛玩火山噴發的星球的武器。自然，有人對這種命運安排是有意見的。這係列大概算是末世和反烏托邦的混閤體——書一開頭就說“世界再一次終結瞭，這也是最後一次”，而且很快就提到這個世界的居民是有幾種限定的“職業規劃”的，並且職業名稱是每個人全名的一部分。第一部裏發生的故事並不多，三個敘述視角的匯閤點挺有意思，文筆比普通YA還是好些的。

在路上看的，敘述方式有點故弄玄虛，因為並沒有增加作品的文學性。可是結尾那麼大坑，好像不追下去又不甘心。
