本書分十個章節，按時間順序追溯瞭澳大利亞自殖民前到21世紀初的曆史，指明瞭塑造瞭現代澳大利亞的各種關鍵因素——社會的、經濟的和政治的。本書自1999年首次齣版以來，廣受好評，目前已經修訂齣版到第三版，重印達十幾次。注：本書係原“世界曆史文庫”叢書之一種，2009年9月齣版。此次內容無改動，改換封麵，新納入中心的“ 東方•劍橋世界曆史文庫”叢書

算是继《法国史》以来又一部让我大跌眼镜的分国史。以散文式风格穿插诗歌的方式竟也写成了一部简明通史，不同于以往的以注重历史事实为主，本书作者大量夹带了自己的政治观点。作者在序言里已经表明，自己要将早就烂熟于心的澳大利亚史凝练成这本不厚的书，自然没有足够空间做...
