This volume presents a new approach to disability among children - the transdisciplinary approach (TD). The basis of this method, which is demonstrated with case studies, is that services to an individual with multiple disabilities must be integrated, unlike the current model in South India which focuses on the delivery of medical services. The TD method involves a constant interrelationship between professionals from different fields, the child with the disabilities and the parents. Assessment, intervention and evaluation are also carried out jointly, resulting in the holistic development of the child.
