This text examines the development of bilateral relations in two pairs of states; Argentina-Brazil and Argentina-Chile. In examining international relations between these states the book adapts a moderate constructivist approach which analyses the role of identities, ideas and perceptions as well as material forces. Using this framework the book explores how the states within these dyads gradually stopped viewing each other as mutual security threats, leading to the growth of mutual trust and the stabilization of regional peace.
