An artist in love with his homeland of Sardinia chooses painting over his former career in the theater. While exploring the island's industrial terrain, he becomes fascinated with slag heaps. Gradually, environmental concerns overtake his work, now made from natural pigments and materials like eucalyptus bark and sea urchins which he collects himself.
