作者简介
卡尔·沙夫纳，毕生亲近海洋，是渔夫，也是海洋科学家，提倡复原海洋资源和生命力不遗余力，曾获普鸟慈善基金会“保护暨环境学人奖”他曾服务于“中大西洋渔业管理委员会”，并曾担任“史密生协会”的“海洋星球”顾问委员，以及“世界保护联盟”的“鲨鱼专家小组”成员。1990年，沙夫纳在“美国奥社邦协会”成立“活海洋计划”，并担任计划主任。目前他住在纽约，是耶鲁大学教授，卡尔·沙夫纳是2000年安娜文学奖获得者；获得1998年《纽约时报》卓越图书奖；1998年《洛杉矶时报》最佳非小说类图书奖；1998年《图书馆杂志》最佳科学图书奖。
