《七日谈》的中国对话者是诸多颁奖典礼总导演、著名音乐人、著名导演山奇，来自日本伊豆的对话者加藤嘉一是一个日本八零后的年轻人，也是前任北京大学日本人协会会长，在短短的四年里，作为策划人、组织者、主持人参与了“京论坛”等四十多个中日交流活动。他们是中日两国乐于将自己所体验的人生感悟、经验和思想与更多人分享的青年的代表。
正如两位作者所说，“七日谈，实际上我们要表达的是七种思想的碎片，每一天会有一个觉悟，也许每一日里的觉悟都并不完整，但是它从不同的侧面表达了中日民间共同在思考的一些东西。”
