本书简述了pipeline处理器的原理，并着重分析了superscalar处理器中实现branch prediction, out of order execution和优化memory data flow的方法。本书还有专门的章节描述intel pentium p6的工作原理，让理论与实践充分结合。总而言之，是一本对现代处理器技术分析非常透彻的教科书。作者John Shen在上课时也是能够举一反三，尽显大神本色。
