An attempted assassination and a theft soon lead to a desperate chase from the low halls of Discworld royalty to the legendary fat mines of Uberwald, where lard is found in underground seams along with tusks and teeth and other precious ivory artifacts. It's up to the dauntless Vimes -- bothered as usual by a familiar cast of Discworld inhabitants (you know, trolls, dwarfs, werewolves, vampires and such) -- to solve the puzzle of the missing pachyderm. Which of course he does. After all, solving mysteries "is" his job.

评分時隔大半年終於剋服瞭碟形世界後20本不是Nigel Planer讀的心理障礙。。新聲優並沒有比Nigel讀得更好！每本書裏都會有一些怪笑角色好煩人！Vimes跟狼人搏鬥那一段血腥又精彩。。他武力值簡直越來越高瞭。。蘿蔔哥隨著人格越來越完美，戲份就越來越少瞭到下一本幾乎就沒有瞭。。就是很想知道他跟女朋友什麼時候生小狗子！
