They discover the Beach, and it is as beautiful and idyllic as it is reputed to be. Yet over time it becomes clear that Beach culture, as Richard calls it, has troubling, even deadly, undercurrents.

Spellbinding and hallucinogenic, The Beach is a look at a generation in their twenties, who, burdened with the legacy of the preceding generation and saturated by popular culture, long for an unruined landscape, but find it difficult to experience the world firsthand.

2020年特殊的假期，待著無事可做，讀瞭這本書。詞匯量不足，看得雲裏霧裏，不過被開頭書中描繪的亞洲旅遊者的感覺、和一絲連綿不斷不斷的懸念吸引著讀下去瞭。可是，感覺後麵的劇情有點崩，難道白人兄弟姐妹們幻想的世外桃源和人性衝突是這個樣子麼... 是不是有點膚淺啊，而且結尾有點莫名其妙。好吧，作為工科生，以後還是讀科普作品吧。文學作品套路深，我還是理解不能。哦，對瞭，這就去找2000年小李子演的同名電影看看去。
