真的太喜欢了，连我爸爸读了都觉得非常喜欢，多么纯朴温馨又满足的生活呀。之前在vx读书上找了好几个版本都不是这个版本，这个版本插画装帧翻译都是最好的。劳拉和阿爸阿妈姐姐玛丽住在大森林里玛丽有个洋娃娃，劳拉只有个手帕包起来的玉米穗，她叫夏洛蒂，夏洛蒂只是一个玉米...

读Lonely Planet时看到介绍位于Pepin的Laura故居博物馆，于是才知道这一系列书。那时候的美国人真是heavy duty啊，爸爸一个人能干那么多事，打猎砍树不在话下，甚至能徒手盖小木屋，妈妈要协助爸爸还要照顾小朋友……太牛逼了……

各种细节非常有意思，对生肉的处理(烟熏、腌渍）等详细到位，可以看作是开拓者时代的准确介绍。另外有本书整理了这个系列里面提到的所有菜谱。

童书应有的样子。充满了爱与温暖。真希望生活在故事里的小木屋。故事里的孩子们没有学校，没有作业，只是一家人和乐融融的在一起度过森林里的春夏秋冬，与自然作伴，每天有好吃的吃。真好！

Though the family lives in a little log house in the Big Woods, it is very snug. Pa hunts for beasts at day and play fiddles for his Children at night. Ma makes delicious syrup, pumpkin pies, Johnny's cake, etc for the family and keep knitting beside the hearth. Sometimes Lara and Mary are naughty, but both of them love baby Carrie.
