He examines Jung's views on such disparate subjects as myth, religion, alchemy, 'sychronicity', and the psychology of gender differences, and he devotes separate chapters to the stages of life, Jung's theory of psychological types, the interpretation of dreams, the practice of Jungian analysis, and to the unjust allegation that Jung was a Nazi sympathizer. Finally, he argues that Jung's visionary powers and profound spirituality have helped many to find an alternative set of values to the arid materialism prevailing in Western society.

著者简介

安东尼·史蒂文斯，毕业于牛津大学，杰出的荣格分析学家、精神病学家和荣格学说著述家，除了医学博士学位之外，还拥有两个心理学学位。其他著作包括：《原型：自性的自然史》（1982）、《论荣格》（1990）、《私人的神话：梦和做梦》（1995）和《阿里阿德涅的线索：人类象征指南》（1998）等。

杨韶刚，广东外语外贸大学政治与公共管理学院教授、博士生导师，道德教育与心理教育研究所所长。长期从事西方心理学史、道德心理学和社会心理学研究，尤其在弗洛伊德精神分析、荣格分析心理学和西方道德心理学思潮等研究方面多有建树。著有《寻找存在的真谛》、《精神追求：神秘的荣格》、《超个人心理学》、《道德教育心理学》等学术专著。

这本书比我想象中要好读很多，读着读着我渐渐觉得并不是在读一本科学理论，而是在探讨永久的哲学命题：关于存在，关于神性。荣格所说的自性，以宗教角度来说，就是佛教的曼荼罗，就是印度教让人去往内在寻找神，以哲学的角度说，可以追溯到柏拉图的理念世界，追溯到毕达哥拉斯...
