A string of paper dolls go on a fantastical adventure through the house and out into the garden. They soon escape the clutches of the toy dinosaur and the snapping jaws of the oven-glove crocodile, but then a very real pair of scissors threatens. A stunning, rhythmical story of childhood, memory and the power of imagination from the author of THE GRUFFALO, and new illustrating talent Rebecca Cobb.
Julia Donaldson is the outrageously talented, prize-winning author of the world's most-loved picture books and the UK Children's Laureate. In addition, Julia writes fiction, as well as poems, plays and songs -- and her brilliant live children's shows are always in demand. Rebecca Cobb is a rising star in children's picture books. Since graduating from Falmouth College of Arts in 2004, Rebecca has illustrated for many clients including The Guardian Guide and The Independent. She has collaborated with Orange Prize-winner Helen Dunmore on two picture storybooks, published by Mabecron Books, and has created two solo picture books for Macmillan -- the hugely accomplished Greenaway-Medal-nominated MISSING MUMMY (978-0-230-74951-1) and the stunning LUNCHTIME (978-0-230-74952-8).
