Elites and Decolonization in the Twentieth Century pdf epub mobi txt 电子书 下载 2024
The dissolution of European empires and the formation of independent states in Africa and Asia was one of the most important historical processes of the twentieth century. Decolonization changed the established images and spatial order of the globe, as well as the imagination of men and women around the world. This volume puts agency squarely at the center of debate by looking at elites, leaders and social groups who shaped decolonization processes and changed the course of history. The volume ultimately shows how elites were vital in mediating and driving the complex processes which ultimately led to decolonization.
